A group of friends and I decided to venture out on New Years Day in South Lake Tahoe after an evening of snow. We were able to make our way to a park on the Nevada side with great sledding and on this particular day, great snowman making conditions. Chris decided to roll the base of what would become a 10 foot snowman.

My Dad and I stopped by the Salt Flats outside of Salt Lake City on my drive back west last May. It was my first time there and a strange sight to see such a wide expanse of white “earth”. I like the contrast that black and white photos can show. A humbling attempt at a little Ansel Adams.

Another photo from the Salt Flats outside of Salt Lake City Utah. This color panorama was stitched together using Hugin from ten stills and cleaned up in Photoshop. It shows a little more than a 180 degree view from near the rest stop by the highway.

The Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon had their third annual International Festival as part of Welcome Weekend for the new business school admits. Here is Brian, dancing in the Japanese performance. I am usually a fan of eyes in all my photos but I was really fond of the framing of this one.

In the middle of shooting volleyball at the annual Wharton MBA Volleyball Tournament, I found a girl from the Wharton team taking a break from the action. I guess that’s just how we MBAs roll – spreadsheet style. Shot from the above in Hutchinson Gym on the UPenn campus, aged photo toned.

Jen and I visited Montreal for New Years and found ourselves making our way through a lot of snow. One of the highlights of the trip for me, was hiking through Parc du Mont-Royal where we found kids sledding, cross country skiers and ice skaters. Pretty much all the fun things to do in snow. I like this image because of the symmetry, the colors and the odd angle.

I shot this at my sister’s Dim Sum breakfast the morning after her wedding. The girl’s mom was picking her up and I caught this while shooting from the hip and like it because her eyes are still wandering even with her mom giving her all her attention. To be a wide-eyed kid again…

My sister and now brother in-law pulled off the greatest do-it-yourself wedding a couple weeks ago. They pulled help from friends to help with practically everything including the location, flowers, centerpieces, heat lamps… the list goes on and on. As usher and photographer, I definitely had my hands full but it was an amazing time. This shot was taken in one of the hallways of the house with window light streaming in from the right and fill bounced from the ceiling.
